To exercise safely and effectively you want have your glucometer with you at all locations to make sure you are in a safe range to exercise. The app will prompt you when it is appropriate to check your blood sugar (20 minutes into workout) but you also have the option to check blood sugar at any time during the workout by simply touching the blood glucose reading button. Each location has predetermined workouts that are appropriate for where you are. For example, home workouts may include free weights but none include weight machines which are included in gym workouts.
